- The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, 18th Ed.
Location: Bobst Library, 6th-Floor Reference Desk. Call #: KF245 .B58 2005. This is the most widely used citation guide for law; most law review follow this style. (University of Chicago "Maroonbook" users should generally defer to the Bluebook.) - The Complete Guide to Citing Government Documents Location: Bobst Library, 6th-Floor Reference. Call #: Z7164.G7 G37 1993. - "CSE," 7th Ed. (Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers) Location: Call #: Ref9 T11 .S386 2006. Now known as the Council of Science Editors (CSE). This is the most recognized and authoritative guide for many in the sciences and related fields. (Formerly CBE).
- "Turabian," 6th Ed. (A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations) Location: various. Call #: LB2369 .T8 1996. Kate L. Turabian's Manual is based on adaptations from The Chicago Manual of Style. It was created as a student-friendly version of that manual, and so does not actually stand as its own independent style guide.
- Writing About Music: An Introductory Guide Location: Bobst Library and New School Scherman Library. Bobst Call #: M3797 .W54 2009. This is the 4th ed. Useful for writing about music.

- Chicago Manual of Style Online This is the online version of the Chicago Manual of Style (Fifteenth Ed.). It is not quite as comprehensive as the print version, but covers almost everything you might need to format your paper and cite your sources.

- Citing Medicine: The NLM Style Guide for Authors, Editors, and Publishers
Provides assistance in setting reference standards for authors and editors, and to librarians and others in formatting bibliographic citations. (from the National Library of Medicine) - The Elements of Style, by William Strunk, Jr. This is an online version of The Elements of Style by William Strunk, Jr. This unabridged e-text version is browsable but not searchable.
